On Thursday February 13, 2014, at the Palais des Congrès, our partner Microsoft Ventures Paris held its first “demo day” in front of international investors, journalists and influencers from the ecosystem. In this context, nine startups made their pitch, all from the accelerator and looking for funds.
Among them, Reminiz, winner of the 4G challenge from Bouygues Telecom, presented its solution. Reminiz is a facial recognition startup. It makes it possible to recognize celebrities via the Smartphone and gives access to all the information of these celebrities. The company is currently focused on the entertainment industry.
This event was also an opportunity for Microsoft to announce the winners of the French Web / Windows Azure competition. This program aims to help startups develop their businesses by covering Cloud Computing costs. The winners therefore benefit from access to the Microsoft Azure platform, free of charge, for 12 months.
The startup Agorize (formerly Studyka) is one of the ten winners. This startup is also part of the BT Initiatives support program, with co-development and an equity investment in 2012. It is developing a crowdsourcing platform that makes it possible to offer open innovation to companies. They call on the communities run by Agorize to analyze and resolve their issues, in the form of challenges, through the collaborative project management web platform.
